10 Years later still going strong

I remember always being chubby as a child. No one else in my family was overweight. They all told me it was just baby fat and it would go away. It didn’t! When I reached high school, and was free to choose what I ate, I usually bought junk food. My weight problem grew more serious. I was only 20 years old and was wearing sizes 22-24.
I tried various things to lose weight, some of them dangerous to my health. Nothing worked. Mentally I grew to fear that I would always be overweight. But I never completely lost hope. I believed that maybe something would work for me.
Four years ago I went to a local gym and noticed a class on health and nutrition sponsored by Life Extension Center & HealthyFix. I went to the class and decided to give the program a try. I was impressed with the team of consultants and how simple the program was. The consultants were all fit and healthy and had so much energy; unlike others I had seen touting weight loss programs.
The team at HealthyFix encouraged me to stick with the program. Even though I did not feel good about working out in the gym because I was 100 pounds overweight, they still encouraged me. They had me focus on what I could do, not on what I couldn’t do. I felt I needed the helps of supplements because so I saw so many others who lost weight and started the HealthyFix Solution three times a day faithfully. Even though I didn’t start losing weight right away, I was amazed at how it helped me feel so much better almost immediately. I soon was able to walk short distances two to three times a week.
It was a little strange for me at first because I was told to eat normal meals. This was something I had never done before. I learned the importance of keeping my body fueled. I felt so good I was able to continue with ease. I believed the weight would come off because I was eating healthier and moving more. I learned to think positive and celebrate each success along the way.
After being on the program a little more than two months I was wearing a size 16. I became even more motivated and started exercising more – step class; kickboxing and high intensity treadmill. I noticed that my eating habits kept improving. I learned how to balance carbohydrates with proteins and a little healthy fat.
Looking back I have to say the program was much easier than I thought it would be. After eight years I still remain faithful to all the things I learned in the Certified Nutrition Course and I still take the HealthyFix supplements. The things I’ve learned in the nutrition course about diet and exercise have changed my life forever. Being a Christian, it was important to me to follow biblical teaching. I have learned so much regarding how important we are to God that he would give us instruction on how to live. I no long feel lost.
I hate to see people become skeptical simply because they know how easy it was for me. They are programmed to believe (like I was) that losing weight is a difficult, almost impossible, thing to do. If you work against your body’s natural inclinations, trying to starve the weight off, it is almost impossible to lose weight and keep it off. The course taught me how to give my body the fuel it needs to function properly. When you eat healthy it is almost impossible to overeat. How many people do you know who say they got fat from eating too many fresh fruits and vegetables? It is the heavily processed, junk and fast foods that are the dieter’s downfall. The answer is not to deny your cravings. Instead you must change them. Then it becomes easy to avoid the foods that aren’t good for you.
To finish my story, I lost over 100 pounds and have kept it off for over two years. I eventually went on to compete in the Ms Black Texas competition where I took fourth place and won the Cover Girl title. I now use my Certified Nutritional Consultant certificate to help others accomplish what I have done.
To those who have more than 30 pounds to lose I recommend they learn as much as they can about what the body needs to perform at its maximum level. The Certified Nutrition Course offered by Healthy Fix is terrific. It will make the learning process easy and enjoyable. I know this much - if I can do it, so can you!

Tips:
- Decide to get started. No one can do it for you
- Learn as much as you can about how your body works.
- Learn as much as you can about quality foods.
- Do not miss a day without some type of movement. Even 5 minutes of walking makes a difference.
- If there is something in your life you don’t like - change it. You have more power than your realize.
- Ask God for strength and happiness each and every day.
- Be thankful for what you have and who you were created to be.
